Exam Solution Video SME

CreatorUp is hiring for a part-time contract opportunity as a Subject Matter Expert on Microeconomics for a series of educational videos we’re currently producing.

 

The job would entail

  • Recording yourself talking through Microeconomics word problem solutions. 
  • Self-recording on a predetermined platform and delivering the worked problem. 
  • You will have an on-camera introduction and conclusion, with the problem work in between. 
  • The basic script is already written out in a presentation deck, so you only have to customize it with related examples/anecdotes, images from our library, and emphasis animations (underlining/circling keywords).
  • Each video is between 3 – 6 minutes long.

Commitment

There is potential for SMEs to work on up to 50 videos on Microeconomics (depending on availability). 

Each video is expected to take between 30 min to 1 hour (or less) to complete all the required tasks.

Compensation

$100 per video

Project Overview

CreatorUp has partnered with an educational publisher to enhance engagement, update current resources, streamline access, and add beauty to 30 existing asynchronous college courses. 

CreatorUp is looking for a creative, Learning Experience (LX) Designer with expertise in the customization of the Canvas LMS who can work in partnership with the Lead Learning Designer to support this enhancement and redesign of the courses.

 

Responsibilities for initial project

  • Conceive, design and build a course shell/template to create an aesthetically pleasing learning environment that can be applied across all subject areas while maintaining consistency of design across all modules, assessments and assignments
  • Use existing brand fonts and colors to deliver a best-in-class LX to include:  course shells, landing pages, navigational structure and CTAs
  • Recommend and configure best-fit solutions for incorporation of third-party interactive learning objects (ILO) where appropriate, to include: API, direct embed or iFrame. 
  • Ensure design is consistent with accessibility in line with WCAG 2.1 Level AA

 

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years experience working with Canvas LMS in a higher-education environment delivered to asynchronous students.
  • Creative vision for customizing out-of-the box tools to enhance engagement and appeal to adult learners.
  • Skilled in conducting user testing interviews and delivering demos to various stakeholders.
  • Experience designing to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards and comfortable with Universal Design for Learners (UDL) concepts.
  • Used to working in an agile, collaborative environment with many quick revisions and incorporation of feedback from various stakeholders.

Timeline: Jan 2023 to April 2023 with a max of approx 45 hours (with an option to renew for additional scope)

Project Overview:

CreatorUp is seeking to create module sized learning videos of 2-3 minutes for 5th to 8th grade students. The videos will cover topics pertaining to English Language Arts and Math. The goal is to make the topics engaging and meet the state standards. 

Role: 5th-8th Grade Educator / Content Expert

 

Job Description: 

The Educators / Content Experts  will be provided with a base video script and will be responsible for reviewing these scripts, ensuring that they are accurate and engaging for the students, and correspond to the defined learning objectives for each video.  Educators will also ensure that the script is appropriate for the consumption by the students of the corresponding grade and their level of learning capacity.

Additionally, educators will need to develop 5 assessment items (e.g. multiple-choice questions) corresponding to the learning objective for each script.  The minimum commitment for each Educator is 10-15 scripts, however there may be an opportunity for many more based on availability, capacity, efficiency, and quality of output.

Deliverables:

  1. Review the scripts and edit as needed to make them accurate, engaging and appropriate for the students, ensuring that the learning objective is being met through the content. 
  2. Comment on suggested visuals or recommend alternate visuals to include on screen to support the talking points.
  3. Create 5 assessment questions for each video. The questions should be multiple choice questions and include explanations for the correct and incorrect answer choices. The assessment questions should specify any supporting graphics, as needed.

Timeline:  This work will commence as soon as the week of December 12, 2022 and continue through January 2023.

Compensation:  $50 per video script review, content adjustment and visual asset recommendations,  and development of 5 assessment questions.

Responsibilities:

  • Review existing client materials and identify content according to the provided outline/template
  • Brainstorm and draft brief for 3 projects (essay of case study style) suggesting topics and activities
  • Review 3 course project assignments (essay or case study style) to ensure accuracy and relevance to the learning objectives
  • Review the scoring rubric for each of the 3 projects (these will be graded by an instructor, explanations/answers not required)
  • Develop content for interactive learning objects (up to 32 per course)  – matching, ranking, etc.  from existing client materials. We will have an LMS designer to actually design them.
  • Review assessment questions and provide feedback (up to 480 per course)
  • Work asynchronously with occasional status & review meetings 

Timeline: Approx 40 hours spread over 8-10 weeks (per course topic)

  • Introduction to Business – January to April 2023
  • College Algebra – March to June 2023
  • Introduction to Psychology – March to June 2023
  • Organizational Behavior – April to July 2023
  • American History I – April to July 2023
  • Statistics – April to July 2023

Compensation:  $1,200 per course
